EGTG presents Lucy Kirkwood’s gripping and funny thriller The Children at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In the aftermath of a nuclear meltdown at the power plant they helped build, two retired scientists have abandoned their home for a seaside cottage outside the contamination zone. From here Robin can tend to his cows and Hazel can keep order. Order is hope. And hope is life. But now a shiver ripples through the cottage, as they receive a visit from Rose, a former colleague, with a frightening offer. Death has come to call.
Inspired by the Fukushima nuclear explosion in 2011, The Children was named by The Guardian as one of the best theatre shows of the 21st Century, coming in at number 3 in the list of 50.
The Children will play at The Royal Scots Club, Hepburn Suite Monday 04 to Saturday 09 August 2025. Tickets cost £15 and are available to purchase from the EdFringe Box Office. EGTG Members receive £3 off with the discount code when purchasing from TicketSource.
