EGTG presents The Virtuous Burglar at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe; a classic farce by Nobel Prize-winning playwright Dario Fo, full of mishaps, misunderstandings and mayhem.
A burglar is interrupted whilst at work when the homeowner returns unexpectedly with his mistress in tow. The burglar is forced to seek refuge inside a grandfather clock, while an array of increasingly confused spouses and lovers arrive. Before he knows it, the burglar – apparently the only one not having an affair – is forced to pretend to have multiple wives. If that wasn’t complicated enough, things take a turn when the burglar’s wife joins the party…
The Virtuous Burglar will play at The Royal Scots Club, Hepburn Suite Monday 04 to Saturday 09 August 2025. Tickets cost £15 and are available to purchase from the EdFringe Box Office. EGTG Members receive £3 off with the discount code when purchasing from TicketSource.
