EGTG presents Simon Stephens’ adaptation of Mark Haddon’s bestselling, award-winning novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a richly theatrical exploration of this touching and bleakly humorous tale.

Christopher, 15 years old, stands beside Mrs Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork; it is seven minutes after midnight; and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington.

Christopher has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at maths, but he is ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. But Christopher’s detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that turns his world upside-down.

Premiered in 2012 by the National Theatre in association with Frantic Assembly, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time went on to take the record for highest number of Olivier Awards, winning Best New Play and six other categories at the 2013 ceremony. The play transferred to the West End in March 2013 and opened on Broadway the following year.

EGTG’s production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will run at Assembly Roxy, Central from Tuesday 25 to Friday 28 November 2025. Tickets cost £15 and are available to purchase from the Roxy Box Office. EGTG Members receive £3 off with the discount code provided separately.
